Also, the state of the camo is as seen from the PoV of the pilot, not the reader. By the time she sees Pinky emerge from the background clutter, it is too late.
Yes, that “chameleon” camo works better IMO.
‘Chameleon’ camo does fit the surrounding sky (misty) and earth colours but not the colour of the landed UN helicopter … bizar …

Precisely. That’s what distinguishes it from General Issue (GI) camo. No need for different kit for different theatres of war.
