Maybe I carry some unresolved issues with what me and my family experienced during our last 8 years in America, but that has no bearing on my theory that America as an empire is in decline, and China as an empire is rising, and that this means that one day their positions will be reversed. If nothing else it’s an interesting literary device.

But I’ve also based this theory or idea on personal observations, I lived in America first in 1976, and a few more times and places later (Indiana, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Maryland). And while living there I traveled the highways a lot, probably been in most of the states, and many of the largest cities, at one time or another. And to put it in a nutshell, due to lack of space here, yes America was great once. But it has steadily declined, and it seems the decline is continuing, now faster under Trump, but would have probably continued even with Bernie. And to put the record straight, this makes me sad, because I love the America that once was, what it gave the world in terms of culture and science.

Okay sure if you say so as for your literary device I also dive into subjects of the nature if you will, specifically my own belief in using bioweapons I myself have been doing a large amount of research on racially based weapons. Frankly I see it as better option than Nuclear weapons specifcally why make tanks and guns when germs can exterminate the entire race of your foe?

America is a young nation compared to other countries. It’s a little more than 200 years old. China is WAAAY older than America is, and it has yet to crumble. I honestly think America has a long way to go. The America has never truly had any control over any country like a true empire. Economically, it influences many countries, but actual militaristic or global control? Not really. America may invade other countries for whatever reason but even then, it never keeps dominant control over those nation’s governments. My point: There really isn’t a legitimate American Empire to decline. If overpopulation is a sign of decline, then I think quite a number of countries will fall before America. Sorry if I sound ultra-patriotic or something.

no need to be sorry, you don’t sound ultra-patriotic lol, those guys if they’d ever come here would freak out… I find it an interesting discussion, been thinking quite a lot about it. You make some valid points. America could very well ‘bounce back’ before hitting rock bottom, and enjoy a sort of Silver Age (after the Golden Age)… maybe Trump’s tomfoolery will serve as a wake-up call for some people. Interesting times lie just ahead.

I think you can be a fan of americana culture without being a fan of Trump, or what America is getting up to around the world.
